Real Sapphire, Broad City fire blanks in season opener

Defending champions, Real Sapphire, started their title defense with a goalless draw against Broad City.

The visitors started the game the livelier of the two, recording shots on attempt as early as the fifth minute. The hosts struggled to move the ball past the halfway line during this period as they laboured beneath Broad City’s press.

They would eventually grow into the game but proceedings were largely dominated by the visitors. Ending the first half without goals, both sides intensified their search for a goal in the second 45. All efforts however proved futile as both teams were evenly matched.

It’s two points dropped for Real Sapphire in their opening game of the 2025/2026 TCC season. It remains to be seen whether or not this will prove pivotal at the end of the season.
