Another Win, Clean Sheet and Business as Usual for Real Sapphire

Real Sapphire’s journey to a maiden TCC League title gained steam this weekend as they brushed off Sporting Lagos in a tight affair.

The visitors came into the game with Beyond Limits breathing down their necks and an opponent just four points behind them on the log. They had their work cut out for them from the get-go, as the hosts pushed for that breakthrough.

But that resilience that has brought them thus far, unbeaten, showed up once again, most importantly in the 35th minute. Musa Akinfenwa’s thunderous shot from the right found the top left-hand corner of Gaffar’s goal as Coach Dan’s men broke the deadlock in style.

That goal would prove to be enough as the Lagosians were handed a first loss since November.
