Iganmu scored three goals in a league game for the first time this season, recording an emphatic victory over Imperial.
Both sides opted for a cautious approach to the game; Imperial looking to avoid a third defeat in a row and Iganmu desperate to avoid another defeat.
That tactical approach meant goal-scoring chances were rare as both goalkeepers had little to do. The game was so tight that only a penalty, converted by Iganmu in the 42nd minute, could break the deadlock.
All of that however changed in the second half as both sides turned up the heat.
While chasing the game, Imperial won themselves a penalty which they also converted in the 54th minute. But that lead didn’t last long. Almost immediately, Iganmu were in front again, this time scoring a header from a corner-kick to put the hosts on the backfoot. The visitors got their third 15 minutes from time after Imperial gave the ball away at the back.
An impressive win for Iganmu who left it late. Could this be the start of their resurgence this season?
