The just-concluded 2025/2026 season featured everything, from long-range ballistic-missile-type goals to late winners, dramatic cup victories, and multiple surprise results. While Beyond Limits secured another league title, Atlantic Business won its first-ever TCC Cup.

But these two weren’t the only winners by the end of the season. The individual awards category also featured select winners who outshone their counterparts during the course of the season.

Keeping 11 clean sheets in 22 league games is no mean feat. But that’s what earned Daniel Aiyenugba the Golden Glove. The goalkeeper played a pivotal role in helping his side win a fifth TCC League title, shutting out opponents in critical moments and losing just once in the entire season.

ASSISTS KING

Throughout the season, Broad City’s Sanusi Hanif was a name synonymous to goals. Every other week, he was either scoring them or creating des passes decisives (assists) for his teammates. Broad City may have finished the season in sixth. However, Sanusi Hanif, with his nine assists in the league, was crowned the Assists King.

TEAM OF THE SEASON

Golden Glove winner Daniel Aiyenugba stays between the sticks, and he is joined by the TCC Cup-winning duo of Friday Cornelius and Wisdom Ledogo. Other defenders include Abubakar Abdullahi (Beyond Limits FA) and Sheriff Aare (Sporting Lagos FA).

Faruk Alimi (Sporting Lagos), Oluwatobi Ewarawon (Atlantic Business), and Sanusi Hanif (Broad City) secured their spots in midfield, while Bidemi Amole (Real Sapphire FC) and the Beyond Limits duo of Yusuf Saka and Merveille Akinocho completed an attacking trio that scored 33 league goals.

What can you say about a coach that lost just once in a league season – thrice, if you’re counting the cup loss? What more can be said about Coach Olumide who led his side to a fifth TCC League title, amassing 59 points from a possible 66, while scoring an average of three goals per game in the league?

PLAYER OF THE SEASON

With 12 goals and nine assists, Sanusi Hanif proved to be the best player of the season. His penchant for goal involvement made him the most effective player in the league. His 21 G/A made up over 50% of his side’s league goals this season, a testament to his competence, optimum performance, and capability.
